Our native plant nursery is located at Willow Springs Park in Long Beach. The nursery grows a variety of California coastal sage scrub plants to support our efforts to restore native habitat in the restoration area.
Join us at a Native Plant Workshop to learn more and participate in an hour of volunteering in the habitat restoration area after each workshop. Parking is available at 2714 California Avenue next to the Farm Lot 59 Farm Stand. Overflow parking is available on the other side of the park at 2755 Orange Avenue. View the map and instructions on how to find us.
This workshop will discuss:
Willow Spring Flowers and the Pollinators That Depend on Them.
Join Native Plant Coordinator, Blanca Diaz for an hour workshop as we explore the beginnings of our bloom season at Willow Springs. One of the many reasons native plants are essential to incorporate into our landscaping and open green spaces is to create habitat for our local pollinators. We will explore the flowers of our Coastal Sage Scrub habitat and meet the pollinators that depend on them for food and shelter. This workshop will take place in our outdoor classroom, please bring hats and comfortable shoes. Workshop will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 am with an opportunity to volunteer on site from 10:00 – 11:00 am
