Robbers disarm officer during North Loop store holdup: HPD – KTRK-TV

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A female officer working security at a Verizon cell phone store in the North Loop was disarmed when two suspects walked in, Houston police said Monday.

According to police, the holdup was reported around 3:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Yale Street, just off the 610 Loop.

Two men came in armed with a gun before taking the service weapon away from the officer inside the store, police said.

The suspects held the officer and everyone else inside the store at gunpoint while they took various devices. They left, also taking the officer’s phone.

Police said the two suspects got in a vehicle with an awaiting third person. This prompted a chase that lasted about 15 minutes.

Two of the suspects were captured near the area of Waco and Lyons. A third person got away on foot and remained on the run as of the evening.

There were no reports of serious injury from the ordeal.
